has increased your business?
KD: Most definitely! Having my very own website
gives my existing client base a chance to view my best
work online, find out about new products I recommend
and much more. Moreover making clients excited about
sharing my website with their family and friends. The
exposure of my work has expanded greatly and the amount
of referalls have gone up too!
SC: Highlight some personal or professional breakthroughs,
thoughts or experiences in your career.
KD: Well I'd have to say that opening my own
salon this past year has definately been a lifelong
dream of mine!
SC: Describe your worst experience doing hair.
KD: Well my first week of doing hair I really
nervous and I accidentally shaved a small bald spot
in my male clients head! (laughing) I paniced and didn't
know what to do. So I did what any new stylist would
do. I distracted him while I stuck a chunk of hair with
wax back onto his head!
SC: You really did that?
KD: I know. Can you believe it? I'm so ashamed!
SC: If you could do any celebraties hair who would
it be and why?
KD: I'd like to say I was the stylist who gave
Lenny Kravits his new look by cutting off his dreadlocks.
SC: Describe your most memorable moment doing hair.
KD: My last visit with a client who had cancer
and was terminally ill. She passed away two weeks later.
I'll never forget the last conversation we had while
she sat in my chair.
SC: Talk about a client who has influenced you professionally
or personally (in a positive way) and what affect that
had on you.
KD: Everytime my client Mike Chestnut came into
the salon he was armed with maps of places to go or
pamphlets on how to start my own business. Whether it's
travel or business he's always encouraged me to get
out there and make it happen!
