Name: Julie Morrison
Where you work: Primarily out of Salon Arista
in Puyallup, WASHINGTON, but I'm pretty mobile.
Your website: www.saloncenter.com/Jewels22185
SC: You're new to SalonCenter...what attracted you to
sign up for this service?
JM: I found it on myspace and thought it was
a great way to keep track of my business and a wonderful
way to get my name out there.
SC: Have you found that being a Salon Center member
has increased your business?
JM: I deffinitely think that anytime you can get
yourself out there it helps your business. And having
a way to keep track of your clients without alot of
paper has deffinitely helped.
SC: Highlight some personal or professional breakthroughs,
thoughts or experiences in your career.
JM: One of my biggest personal breakthoughs was
the realization that you really have to do hair because
you love it, and if you stop loving it and get caught
up in all the drama of a salon, you will not last very
long.
SC: Describe your worst experience doing hair.
JM: When cutting my first clients hair, she was
very fond of her long hair and i was just going to cut
2 inches, but as the cut progressed, i ended up taking
about 6 or 7 inches. Thank goodness she was nice about
it and understood that it was my first time.
SC: You really did that?
JM: Yes, but I've seen worse done!
SC: If you could do any celebraties hair who would
it be and why?
JM: Johnny Depps, because he can wear any look
and make it look good, so he would be open to being
creative.
SC: Describe your most memorable moment doing hair.
JM: I had to take over a friends client, and
she had done an amazing job doing this beautiful color
job on her, and i was so scared i couldnt retouch it
with the same lines. But 1 1/2 later she was done and
it looked flawless.
SC: Talk about a client who has influenced you professionally
or personally (in a positive way) and what affect that
had on you.
JM: I started doing my boss' hair, and the first
time i tried, i messed it up. But she just came right
back. She is always very encouraging and she never cares
what we do. She has complete trust in me as a stylist.
Not to mention all the personal stuff she has talked
me though these last few months. She thinks i can do
anything, and that helps whenver you are wondering what
to do next.
